Blow off valves

A Blowoff Valve (BOV) is a pressure release system present in most petrol turbocharged engines.

They aim to ensure a smooth-running engine with enhanced reliability. BOV's are not only used to produce that hissing sound that we all love, but they are also designed to reduce pressure in the intake system as the throttle is closed, thus preventing compressor surge.
